Probate:
In New Jersey probate is pretty straightforward. What you do is after someone passes away is take the will, bring it to the surrogate’s office, and sit with the clerk and the clerk processes that particular will for probate. There’s a fee involved of course. But the person who’s named as the executor of the estate is then officially appointed. And then that executor follows the directions that’s in the will to distribute the property and the money to those who are supposed to take under the will. The probate process can be simple or it can be more complex, especially if there are specialty properties that are owned in the estate, lands for example that are out-of-state, and this is the type of thing that especially you may need some help from someone like me. Thank you.
